It’s Your Turn!

As most of you know, I’ve been having a weekly cup of coffee and conversation with a total stranger for nearly three years. It’s been an amazing journey and my life has been enriched in countless ways. I’ve grown, tried new things, made incredible friendships, stretched out of my comfort zone and learned lessons about life, loss and love. Health, hope and happiness. Religion, relationships and resiliency. The alliterations could go on and on.

Today, I’m excited to announce a new project that is giving me goose bumps just writing about! Since day 1, I’ve heard the same lines from people when they first hear about Coffee With A Stranger: “I wish I had thought of that!”, “I’d love to have coffee with a stranger!”, “Wow, that person sounded so interesting. I’d love to meet them.”

Here’s the secret:

You CAN do this project too. You CAN have coffee with a stranger and meet all sorts of new and interesting people. Your life CAN be changed by a single conversation. And I’m making the commitment to you to help make it happen!

I took a little time off from putting the finishing touches on the book, Coffee With A Stranger: 100 Conversations That Changed My Life to write an ebook that will serve as a guide to offer instruction, ideas, and tips for starting your very own Coffee With A Stranger project. I will walk you through every step from finding your first “stranger” to what to do after the conversation. And I’ve also created a private online Facebook community where you can get more support from me and others who are also giving Coffee With A Stranger a try.

The only request I have from you, is that you share your story. It doesn’t have to be lengthy, though feel free to write as much as you want. But I’m looking for stories from people all over the world who are connecting with strangers in a deep and meaningful way to share on my blog and potentially in the book!

Isn’t that exciting?

If you think so, please check out this 3 minute video and then click the link at the end to sign up!

  1. I just wanted to shoot you a little note to let you know what a pleasure it was to meet you yesterday. You have such a beautiful smile and an infectious charisma. Who knows maybe some day we can meet for coffee since we already shared a glass of prosecco. 🙂

  2. Hi Melissa – I think it’s so neat that you’re encouraging people to duplicate your process.
Depending on who people choose to interview, it could transform race relations in a small way. Thanks for being you. 🙂
